Bad news for fans of classic country. Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard had been scheduled to appear, together, for a concert in Independence, Missouri on April 11. However, due to ongoing health struggles, Haggard has had to cancel his performance. Willie Nelson is still scheduled to play at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena, with some new special guests.

In a Facebook posts to fans, the arena has announced that Willie Nelson and Family will be joined April 11 by Jamey Johnson and Ryan Bingham. Fans with questions are encouraged to contact Silverstein Eye Centers Arena for additional information at 816-442-6100. Ticket prices are $55-$70.

Nelson has recorded over 200 albums during his six-decade career. and has won nearly every award possible for a recording artist and songwriter. He is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame and the National Agriculture Hall of Fame.

Jamey Johnson is a singer/songwriter that has, in addition to scoring hit songs of his own, written for artists like Trace Adkins and George Strait. His Top 10 single, "In Color," was the Song of the Year at both the ACM and CMA Awards. He has also been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards.
