The Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says that a suspect wanted following a late night pursuit early this week has turned himself in and is now in custody.

Authorities reportedly tried to stop Dalton Fisher's vehicle just after midnight on January 21. The vehicle fled and was pursued down Mt. Hope Road. The suspect then attempted to drive through a low water crossing, which caused the vehicle to flood out and stop.

According to a news release, Fisher got out of the vehicle while the deputy was on the other side of the water, unable to cross. Fisher was ordered to show his hands. The sheriff's office says Fisher then "took a shooting stance toward the deputy, who then shot at the suspect."

Fisher reportedly fled on foot and was pursued by law enforcement and a K9 unit. The search was abandoned after several hours. A search of the vehicle reportedly led to the discovery of methamphetamine, drug packaging materials, digital scales, and two loaded weapons. One was an AR-15 assault rifle and the other was a 12 gauge shotgun.

Fisher turned himself in on January 24 in Callaway County. He was then transferred to Moniteau County.
