A 32-year-old Jefferson City man who was observed acting suspiciously was arrested by Moniteau County deputies on December 2.

A press release from the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office says that a deputy on patrol observed the suspect walking down the middle of the street in California. As the deputy passed by, the man attempted to hide his face and acted in a "suspicious manner."

Contact was made with the man, who provided a false identity. He was transported to the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office, where he was positively identified as Kurt R. Catron. Catron reportedly admitted that he had drugs on his person. A "substantial amount" of methamphetamine, needles, and drug paraphernalia were retrieved.

Catron was transported to the Moniteau County Jail, and authorities also found that he had several active warrants from Callaway County and Jefferson City.
