Guys, one thing NJ and I have in common is an interest in history. He's mostly focused on World War II history, but he also loves to hear about all sorts of different military history. And me, I just like thinking about how things were hundreds of years ago, and how different they are now.

So we've always enjoyed going off on little weekend road trips. Mostly it's to a festival or something. But sometimes we go to museums. I remember one of his first date ideas was to take a little trip down to the Churchill museum in Fulton. He was so nervous that I would hate it, and that I would be so bored, he kind of took us through it quicker than he wanted. But of course, now he knows I'm down for all that historical business. I wanna know, you know?

But of course, we've been trying to "be good" lately, by cutting down on our spending. And heading off for random road trips can be a little pricey, especially if you get caught up in gift shops or nearby shopping. So how the heck to do you save money, get out of the house, and still learn a little something? With a quick road trip to Lexington!

Trip To Lexington!

So would I recommend it to you?  Yes! Although maybe go next month, not this month.  Then you  might be able to get a tour of the Anderson House. And I bet the weather would be nicer for a walk on the trails.   We timed things pretty badly, I think Lexington was planning for their St Patrick's Parade when we showed up. So it seemed like maybe only one restaurant downtown was open, and it was packed.  So we just left and had lunch in Warrensburg instead, on the way home.  So if you show up on a different day, you'll probably be able to enjoy more of Lexington's food.  Overall, though, super fun, easy drive - and the museum and Anderson House are free to enter!

What are some of your favorite mini road trips to take in Mid-Missouri?  Tell me all about them, maybe we'll try yours next!

Trippingly yours,
Behka
