A Knob Noster man was seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Johnson County early Saturday morning. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2001 Chevy driven by 36-year-old Joshua R. Lackey of Knob Noster was eastbound on US Highway 50, west of NE County Road 651 at 12:45 a.m., when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, returned to the roadway, skidded and traveled off the right side. The front bumper of the Chevy then struck a ditch, causing the vehicle to rotate clockwise, ejecting the driver through the windshield. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its wheels facing west.

Lackey was transported to Centerpoint Hospital by JCAD.

Lackey was later arrested at 1:17 a.m. for DWI, no seat belt and careless and imprudent driving.

The Chevy was totaled and towed by Tip Top Towing.
