According to an article on the website calltothepen.com, KC has some expectations for the Royals' third baseman after his season ending injury last year.

The Royals had problems with injuries throughout the 2016 season. Moustakas, unfortunately ended his season in a collision with KC outfielder Alex Gordon in foul ball territory. Gordon returned to the lineup but after weeks of rehab.  Moustakas was forced to have surgery and missed the rest of the season.

Moustakas had been working on his offense for years before this injury occurred. It’s unfortunate that he wasn’t able to contribute in 2016, because he seemed to be going in the right direction with above average offense in the early part of the season.

He's had plenty of time to rehab and get himself into the best shape of his career so it should be interesting to see what becomes of the Royals' slugger. If he could have a great 2017, the Royals might be in good shape to compete for a Wild Card spot as the Cleveland Indians should mow down the competition in the AL Central.

All in all it's going to be great to see Moose back in action this year at the K.

during the game on May 03, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri.
