Johnson County Sheriff’s Reports for July 31, 2024

Monday morning, Johnson County Deputies were dispatched to the 1800 block of Northwest 625 in Holden in regards to a report of a domestic disturbance. The victim stated he was being chased around the house by the suspect, who was threatening him. The victim attempted to hide in the basement, but the suspect got through the door and chased the victim outside. The victim’s mother tried to intervene, but was unsuccessful. Nicholas James Nugent, 34, of Kingsville, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree.
Sunday afternoon, Deputies were called to NW 25 in Warrensburg in regards to a domestic disturbance. The caller, Dustin Nelson, advised he needed cops now due to his Mother being a “Fake ass person”. Deputies responded, and spoke with the Mother, Sherri Hall. She advised her son kept threatening her, and was afraid. Deputies advised her on the procedure to get an ex-parte. Nelson became irate with Deputies, stated he did not want anything to do with the Deputies, and called 911 to report the Deputies were trespassing on this property. Deputies left the scene.
Sunday evening, Deputies were dispatched to the 1400 block of NW 325 in Holden in regards to a domestic disturbance. The victim stated his bother came out of his camper and onto the front porch of the residence. The victim had already told the suspect he was not allowed in the house, and he would call the Police if he stepped inside. The suspect tried to take the phone out of the victim’s hand and prevent him from calling emergency services. The suspect also struck the victim’s left elbow with his right hand three to four times. The suspect fled on foot into a heavily wooded area. Deputies and the MSHP searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. Charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree will be filed with the prosecutor against the suspect.
Sunday morning, Deputies were dispatched to a report of a stolen vehicle in Bates City. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with John Seele, who advised his white 2015 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen between July 18th and July 23rd, while he was in Colorado. The victim stated his wife is the registered downer, but she passed in November of 2023. The TOD is his son, who Deputies also spoke with. The son stated there was one key to the vehicle, which was inside the residence. The home was left unlocked while he was away. The report notes the Camaro is a two door with a black hood, black rims, and black tail lights. There is no suspect information at this time.
On July 28th*, Deputies spoke with an employee of Tip Top Towing, who stated there was a red sedan that was answering all over the road. Deputies located the sedan in the area of NE 501 Road and NE 50 Highway. Deputies observed the vehicle crossing over the center line. The driver was identified as Christie Lynn Petree, 32, of Sedalia. Petree was exhibiting strange behavior and had glassy, watery, blood shot eyes. She also performed poorly on the field sobriety tests. After consent was given to search the vehicle, Deputies located 27 blue M-30 pills, which were believed to be Oxycodone. Petree was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving While Intoxicated, and Failure to Provide Insurance.
In the early morning hours Sunday, Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were mobile patrolling eastbound on Interstate 70 at the 47 Mile Marker. Troopers checked the speed of a Chevrolet Equinox ahead of them, up to 97 miles per hour, when limited to 70 miles per hour. Troopers activated their emergency lights, but the Chevrolet failed to yield, and a pursuit was begun. The pursuit led just west of Warrensburg, where the Chevrolet was driven into a corn field and the occupants fled on foot. At this point, three Deputies from Johnson County, one from Pettis County, and three Troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol began a search of the field. A female subject, Alexis Marie Carey, 22, of Sedalia, was found in field. While attempting to speak with her after placing her in handcuffs, she kept slipping in and out of consciousness. Soon after, Carey was transported to the hospital with JCAD. A male subject was also found in the cornfield. Jeffery Allen Kinner, 42, of Knob Noster, was identified. Kinner denied being the vehicle's driver and claimed to be asleep during the pursuit. Kinner was arrested on charges of Driving While Revoked and felony Resisting Arrest by Fleeing. A third person, a male, was mentioned in the report, but not named.
Sunday morning, Deputies conducted a traffic stop at the 75 block of NE 23 Highway. Deputies stopped a 2024 Chevrolet Trax because it was observed making a lane violation. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Tedra Rodrigues, 48, of Warrensburg, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop at SE 201 and SE 250 in rural Warrensburg on Saturday evening. Deputies pulled the vehicle over because it did not have a registration plate. Shenna M. Bartlett, 34, of Warrensburg, was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated and Driving While Revoked.
Friday evening, Deputies were sent to Whiteman Air Force Base Spirit Gate about an agency assist for a fugitive with an Out of State Warrant. Whiteman Military Police officers had detained a subject due to an active felony warrant out of Johnson County Kansas for charges of Possession of Cocaine. Cedrick D’Anthony Allen 55, was transported to the Johnson County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold. Bond was later set at $10,000 cash or surety.
On the afternoon of July 24th, Johnson County Deputies met with the Holden Police Department in regards to a possible location of a subject with a warrant. Warren Grey Lockard, 34, of Holden, was located and taken into custody for his four felony warrants out of Johnson County, all on charges of Driving Without a License.
Deputies were dispatched to assist with the Warrensburg Police Department with a vehicle pursuit on the morning of July 24th. WPD took the driver, Ethan Timothy Fritz, 22, of Warrensburg, into custody.
Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of SW 1501 to investigate a suspicious fire last Tuesday evening. Information was gathered from Andrew O’ Brien, who reported hay bales burning. 37 hay bales were burned, with no immediate danger to anyone else. Information was gathered as the fire is believed to have been set intentionally.
Last Tuesday morning, Belinda Rowe wished to report two of her vehicles had been damaged. Deputies spoke with Rowe, who advised she found a garden hose in the tank of her 2017 Chrysler Pacifica after she went to chemotherapy the day before. She also advised her 2019 Chevrolet van had the hose from the intake to the tank cut back in June. There are no security cameras, and no suspects are named.
In the early morning hours of July 23rd, Deputies attempted to stop a gray 2021 Toyota Prius for travelling at a slow rate of speed and committing multiple lane violations in the 800 block of NE 50 Highway in Knob Noster. The vehicle failed to yield to the emergency lights and siren. The vehicle pursuit continued until the vehicle came to rest at the Arnold gate of the Whiteman Air Force Base. Taehee Kim, age unlisted, location unlisted, exited the vehicle without incident. Kim was then transported to the WMMC for a medical evaluation. Kim was also issued a summons for Failure to Yield to An Emergency Vehicle.
Last Sunday Evening, Deputies were dispatched to a rural address in Kingsville in regards to a domestic assault. A victim advised his son was drinking and “being a problem”. While en route, the victim said the son assaulted him. Dustin Dover, 37, of Kingsville, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
On the morning of July 21st, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black 2019 BMW for travelling 77 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. Upon making contact with the driver, Officers could smell the odor of marijuana emanating from the open passenger window. After a consent search of the vehicle, several marijuana related items, alcohol, marijuana, and 14 pills in a gallon sized baggie were located. The pills were sent to the MSHP for testing, but nothing further was mentioned in the report.
