Jefferson City Man Arrested on Multiple Warrants After Three-County Pursuit

In the early morning hours of January 12th, Pettis County Deputies, along with the Pettis County K9 Unit, observed suspicious activity at the Temp Stop, 4575 South Limit Avenue in Sedalia. Deputies ran the Missouri license plate, which came back to Kameron Fain, 31, of Jefferson City. A short time later, Communication advised Deputies that Fain had active felony warrants out of Cole County and Ozark County for felony Possession of a Controlled Substance ($1,500 cash only bond), felony Domestic Assault in the 1st Degree With Serious Physical Injury (No bond), and a Probation Violation warrant for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree (3rd Offense or More).

The Pettis County K9 Unit attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle in the area of Clinton Road and Gram Road. At the time, Fain accelerated at a high rate of speed and Deputies initiated a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit led Deputies out into the county. During the duration of the pursuit, the public safety was never in danger due to the time of the pursuit. No one was in the roadway. The pursuit continued outside of Pettis County into Morgan County. Pettis County Deputies continued the pursuit with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F Dispatch, the Moniteau County Dispatch, and the Pettis County Joint Communications. Moniteau County Deputies and Cole County Deputies took the pursuit over.

A short amount of time later, Moniteau County Deputies and Cole County Deputies got the vehicle to stop. Fain, the driver of the vehicle, fled on foot from the Deputies and was arrested after a short foot pursuit. The other passengers in the vehicle were identified as Lacey Roach 32, of Jefferson City, and Michael Runyan, 27, of Warsaw. The vehicle pursuit ended at US 50 and Henwick Lane, Cole County. Fain was taken into custody at Henwick Lane and Rabbit Run in Cole County.

The Pettis County Deputies are submitting charges of felony Resisting Arrest, felony Tampering With Physical Evidence In Felony Prosecution and Unlawful Possession, Transport, Manufacture, Repair Or Sale Of Illegal Weapon with no bond.

The Pettis County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Sedalia Police Department, Tipton Police Department, Moniteau County Sheriff's Office, Cole County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F Communication, Moniteau County Communication, and the Pettis County Joint Communications. A team effect by Deputies and Communications Officers led to a safe ending to the pursuit that led several agencies over a 50-mile pursuit. A teamwork well done by all.
