So let's get into it...winter weather. How many of you are saying during this hot spell..."I can't wait til winter gets here?" I think it's just natural as we want it to be cooler when the temperatures are in the mid 90's and the heat indices are well above 100 degrees. In the winter months we do the same thing only we complain about the cold and can't wait for the warmer weather.

So we're less than five months away from the beginning of Winter and Christmas. It will be here before you know it. I decided to check with the Farmer's Almanac to see what they have to say about the upcoming winter of 2021-22.

They're saying it could be colder than usual this winter, so if you love the cold this winter is going to be more to your liking. Here's what they have to say:

Our long-range forecast is calling for a cold winter with normal to below-normal temperatures in areas from the Great Lakes and Midwest, westward through the Northern and Central Plains, and Rockies.

According to their map of the United States, the Farmer's Almanac is showing Missouri in the lower portion of a group of states that could expect "Cold, and Above Normal Snowfall."

Now just to the south of us, they're calling for "Temperamental! Wild Swings from mild to tranquil to cold and wintry!"

So how accurate was their predictions for past winters? For the winter of 2018-2019 they were pretty much spot on. For last winter the statistics weren't available.

All I can say is if you live in Missouri, expect the unexpected when it comes to weather!
