How Are Orders From Amazon Being Prioritized?
If you've tried to purchase something online in the past few days, you may be noticing a slow down in the delivery process.
According to a story on familyhandyman.com, the demand is high but the unfortunate side of this is the slow down of goods being processed and delivered.
The story includes the following:
If you’ve tried to order anything from Amazon over the past week, you’ve likely run into delayed shipping and delivery timelines. That’s understandable, with the sudden surge in online shopping in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many states and municipalities are asking people to limit interactions via social distancing and shelter-in-place orders to prevent the spread of the virus. Grocery stores and other essential services are still open, but many people are turning to online retailers like Amazon to fulfill their shopping needs.
In a statement from Amazon:
“temporarily prioritizing household staples, medical supplies and other high-demand products coming into our fulfillment centers so that we can more quickly receive, restock, and ship these products to customers. For products other than these, we have temporarily disabled shipment creation. We are taking a similar approach with retail vendors.”
So your chances of ordering something from the online retail giant may be on hold for awhile. According to Amazon the policy will be in effect through at least April 5.
