Worried about keeping the lights on in your home as we go into the fall and winter months? If you're an Evergy customer and qualify, Evergy and The Salvation Army have a program that can provide your household with up to 12 months of relief.

According to Evergy here's how the program works:

The Economic Relief Pilot Program (ERPP) is a great way to help ease the pain of monthly bills and provide help to budget your monthly expenses. This program provides those with an income at or below 200% of the current federal poverty level with a credit of up to $65 per month, for a maximum of 12 consecutive months, if you qualify.

There are three different ways you can sign up:

  • Following the directions and filling out the form HERE and sending it to The Salvation Army Address on the application.
  • Calling The Salvation Army at 816-756-5392
  • Making an appointment at a Salvation Army Office near you.

To be eligible for this program you must be an Evergy customer with an active account in good standing. Not disconnected or at risk for your service to be disconnected. Have an income 200% below the federal poverty level (you can check that here). And you must not have been previously removed from the program due to mishandling your Evergy account. Additionally participants must agree to be interviewed by Evergy and or the Missouri Public Service Commission if requested.
