Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education members and district administrators will break ground for a new $10.5 million early childhood center at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the property on Tiger Pride Boulevard on the campus of Smith-Cotton High School.

Board President Dr. Jeffery Sharp will speak about construction of the expanded and upgraded Pettis County Early Childhood Cooperative facility.

Members of the Richard and Mary Loftus family will also be on hand to discuss their commitment to early childhood education in Sedalia.

Principal Grace Kendrick retired earlier this year, and Joel Sherman was named the new principal of the co-op in April.
