Eldon Man Injured After Truck Strikes House

An Eldon man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Thursday afternoon in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2006 Ford F-150, driven by 61-year-old Daniel R. Stechmann of Eldon, was on Shamrock Road, east of Highline Drive at 3 p.m., when the driver lost control of the vehicle, which traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a road sign. The driver then overcorrected, and the vehicle returned to the roadway, traveled onto Highline Drive, then off the right side, where it struck a house.

Stechmann suffered moderate injuries, and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

The Ford was totaled.
