I'm on social media.  I try to keep up with the kids these days. Heck, I've even been trying to listen to the music the kids listen to these days a little bit. I don't understand all of it, but I know a guy in a marshmallow costume is apparently quite popular.  Just about every other song has this guy in it or "features" him.  Part of my mission to stay "hep" is to stay connected with my stepdaughters.  Meagan and Laney are fourteen now, and they're almost ready for high school.

I know I won't be able to really understand everything going on in their lives, because their childhoods were obviously in much different times than mine. But I get it, they have stuff they like just like how we did.  We had pongs, they have fidget spinners.  But the other day, the girls and I were talking about some things kids do around school, and apparently "flossing" is one of them.  I found a video to show you.

Okay.

This is a thing, apparently. I have many questions.

But this was last year.  They're still doing it? Don't these things usually go away after a few months?  Why is it called flossing? Who is this kid? Did he really invent this dance? How many kids do this? Why do they do it? How often do they do it? Is this a regular thing or is it a special occasion thing? Is this a meme now?

That's it. I give up. I'll just have to be the old, embarrassing stepmom.

Trendily yours,

Behka
