On Friday just before 5 a.m., Pettis County deputies were called to the 30600 block of Ball Road south of Sedalia on a domestic disturbance in progress.

When deputies arrived they heard yelling coming from inside. When they attempted to make contact, a male later identified as Christopher James Gilley came to the door very upset and in an aggressive manner. When deputies attempted to calm Gilley down, he assaulted one of them. Gilley resisted arrested when deputies attempted to place him into custody. Deputies eventually had to use a taser to subdue Gilley and place him in handcuffs and under arrest.

During the investigation, it was learned that Gilley had assaulted several people inside the residence.

Gilley was charged with 3rd Degree Class E Felony Assault, 3rd Degree Class D Felony Assault on Special Victim, Resisting Arrest and 2nd Degree Class A Misdemeanor Harassment.

He was transported to the Pettis County Jail on a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
