This is both interesting and disturbing on a number of levels. A Missouri woman and her monkey star in a controversial TV series called "Chimp Crazy" and you've likely never heard or seen anything quite like this before.

I have not had the chance to watch the full show at this point, so I'll reserve judgment until I do. Many have watched "Chimp Crazy" on HBO and have likely already formed an opinion about Tonia Haddix who's fighting with PETA over her possession of a pet chimpanzee who used to be a movie star. Tonia is a Missouri woman who obviously cares about her monkeys. PETA says she's not qualified to care for chimpanzees.

There's a unique twist to this already bizarre story as Good Morning America learned that the director of "Chimp Crazy" is Eric Goode who is also the same person who directed the infamous "The Tiger King".  They allege that he hid his identity from Tonia Haddix and she says she never would have agreed to do the show if she knew he was connected to it.

As you might imagine, this whole situation is a dumpster fire with some who think Tonia does not provide a safe environment for the chimpanzee while others think how the show was made with the director allegedly hiding his identity is unethical. Safe to say some also don't agree with PETA's allegation.

Again, I have not had the chance to view the full series and from what I've seen on the surface, I'm not sure I want to. If you're interested, you can check out all the details of the "Chimp Crazy" series on HBO.
