Chilhowee Man Dies In Head-on Collision in Johnson County
A Chilhowee man died in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Friday morning in Centerview.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2007 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by 37-year-old Christina M. Worthington of Holden, was at 311 SW Missouri 58 in Centerview at 10:48 a.m., when she crossed the center line and hit a northbound 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, driven by Billy J. Fields of Chilhowee, head-on.
Both vehicles came to rest of the east side of the roadway and Fields was ejected from his motorcycle. Fields was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Mike Coleman at 10:59 a.m. The body was taken to Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral home in Warrensburg.
Worthington suffered minor injuries, and was transported to Research Medical Center for treatment.
The Dodge had extensive damage, while the Kawasaki was totaled.
Johnson County Deputies assisted the eight Troopers on scene.
