Early this morning, Officers responded to the 600 block of East 17th Street in reference to a burglary in progress.

Upon arrival, Officers discovered that the homeowner was awoken to someone inside their residence. The homeowner began checking the home with a firearm, and located the suspect inside the residence. The homeowner ordered the suspect to leave the home. The suspect advanced towards the homeowner, and the homeowner shot the suspect one time. The suspect fled the residence.

Additional Sedalia Police Department Officers responded to the area, searching for the suspect. He was located a short time later at the Bothwell Regional Health Center, where he was treated for non life-threatening injuries.

Daniel Schnack, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested for Burglary in the 1st Degree and charges will be requested to the Pettis County Prosecutor.
