Alma Woman Injured in Lafayette County Accident
An Alma woman was injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night in Lafayette County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 22-year-old Miriah G. Appleby of Alma was the driver of an eastbound 1999 Volkswagen on Missouri 20, east of Peacock Road at 8:25 p.m., when she struck the rear of a Ford New Holland Skid Loader that was scraping dirt off the roadway. It was driven by 50-year-old Rex B. Gash of Higginsville.
Appleby suffered serious injuries, and was flown to Research Hospital by Life Flight Eagle for treatment. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
The Ford had minor damage, while the VW was totaled.
