A 28-year old Clinton man was arrested early Monday morning after a vehicle pursuit in Henry County.

The Clinton Police Department says at approximately 4:30 Monday morning (July 8) an accident occurred at the East Junction of Missouri 13 Highway and Missouri 18 Highway.

A 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, driven by 28-year-old Frederick Griffitt, of Clinton, was actively being pursued by police, on felony charges. The Chevy reportedly failed to stop at a signal at the East Junction and proceeded east through the intersection.

After entering the intersection, Griffitt's vehicle was struck by a Ford F-250, driven by 32-year-old Issac Keepper, of Crane, MO.

Upon impact, Griffitt's vehicle overturned and ejected a passenger, 24-year-old Kaelee Murray, of Holden.

Griffitt reportedly fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later. Murray suffered moderate injuries and was air-lifted to Research Hospital in Kansas City.

Griffitt reportedly denied any injury and declined medical attention. However, he was taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, where he was medically cleared for confinement.

Keepper suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

After being cleared for confinement, Griffitt was taken to the Henry County Jail, where he was incarcerated on previous charges, as well as pending charges. The accident will be investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
