Tonight and tomorrow, KMOS-TV features programs related to the 40th Anniversary of the Vietnam War, the war that defined generations.

At 8:00, "The Draft" - Race, class, culture - the draft in the 1960s and 1970s was a lightning rod that lit up every schism in American society. But ending the draft has produced unintended consequences, creating a citizenry completely disconnected from that of the soldiers who experience the burden of endless wars.

At 9:00, "Dick Cavett's Vietnam" examines the war and its impact on America through the prism of interviews conducted by Cavett. These featured thoughtful conversation and debate from all sides of the political spectrum. The program combines interviews from Cavett's shows with archival footage, network news broadcasts and audio/visual material from the National Archives to provide insight and perspective on this controversial chapter of American history.  For more information go to: http://kmos.org/Vietnam_40

Lindenwood got a two-out RBI single and scored an unearned run to grab a 4-3 walkoff win over the Mules in the regular season finale on Sunday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex. The Mules finished the regular season at 28-20 overall and 23-13 in MIAA play and will be the No. 3 seed in the MIAA Tournament.

For the first time since 2009 and the eighth time overall, Central Missouri softball has won the MIAA regular season championship.  UCM swept Lindenwood 2-1, 7-2 Saturday afternoon to improve to 39-13 on the season and 21-5 in the MIAA.

There's less than a week left before the MIAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Central Missouri got their final preparations in at three separate meets this weekend.

The largest group traveled to Des Moines, Iowa for the famous Drake Relays. UCM came away with a pair of individual champions. Heavin Warner was a two-time winner in the discus and the hammer throw. Warner broke her own school record in the discus, throwing 178-2. She bested athletes from both Divisions I and II with the throw. On Saturday, Warner also won the hammer throw, throwing 194-7. She leads the NCAA Division II in both events.  Erika Kinsey also beat competitors from both Division I and II in the women's high jump. She jumped 6-0.5 to be crowned champion. She too leads the nation in the event.
