The Korean War may have happened over 60 years ago and may be called the “Forgotten War,” but it was remembered by those who gathered at the Sedalia VFW on Sunday afternoon (June 23). Eighteen Korean War vets were on hand to be recognized for their service by the Sedalia VFW. The national unemployment rate spiked following the 2008 financial crash, and it has remained stubbornly high ever since. Unfortunately, it has been even worse for returning American servicemembers. Today, though, Wal-Mart announced a plan to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years.

Cross-Country Wagon Ride Honoring Veterans Passes Through Sedalia
Motorists may have seen a large covered wagon drawn by two horses traveling southbound on South Limit this morning (September 19).  The wagon was passing though Sedalia on a journey across the country known as the Freedom Trail Ride, honoring the fallen members of the military and supporting children with disabilities.
