Tim McGraw has honored many veterans through his partnership with Chase and Operation Homefront. He's given away homes and cakes and even a puppy, and now he's planning a tribute concert for military members and their families at U.S. Naval Station Mayport to celebrate Veteran's Day.

It was a beautiful evening to welcome home the 12th Honor Flight in Sedalia, Mo. They were escorted by a group of about 75 local motorcycle riders from Marshall Junction to Sedalia on Tuesday night (Sept. 3).

Brad Paisley and his fans are a generous bunch. At the country superstar's Saratoga Springs, N.Y. show, the fans rallied together and brought a total of 900 pounds of food and raised $400 worth of donations for the Feed Our Vets charity.

The Korean War may have happened over 60 years ago and may be called the “Forgotten War,” but it was remembered by those who gathered at the Sedalia VFW on Sunday afternoon (June 23). Eighteen Korean War vets were on hand to be recognized for their service by the Sedalia VFW. Post Commander Larry Reven and Service Coordinator Gary Gill led the program that was held in honor of the 63rd Anniversary

Tim McGraw continues to demonstrate his big-hearted generosity through big gifts. Really big gifts. On his 2013 Two Lanes of Freedom Tour, he will once again partner with Chase and Operation Homefront to give away more mortgage-free homes to military veterans and their families.

By now you've probably seen at least one video of a soldier or Marine returning home and seeing his dog for the first time. It's one of the things the Internet does that really, genuinely tugs at your heartstrings.

The national unemployment rate spiked following the 2008 financial crash, and it has remained stubbornly high ever since. Unfortunately, it has been even worse for returning American servicemembers. Today, though, Wal-Mart announced a plan to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years.

Motorists may have seen a large covered wagon drawn by two horses traveling southbound on South Limit this morning (September 19).  The wagon was passing though Sedalia on a journey across the country known as the Freedom Trail Ride, honoring the fallen members of the military and supporting children with disabilities.
