Bow Season is in Full Swing
The weather is cooling off nicely, the deer are moving and bow season is in full swing.  Man, I love those calm mornings sitting up in the tree stand, watching the sun come up and the woods come alive, waiting for that buck that I've been hoping would come by.

Bow season starts Saturday, September 15!  I'm already in pre-rut.  We're getting lots of great pics for our Trail Cam Contest every day.  Thank you for sending those photos.  It's looking like you voters will have your hands full!

The heat is still on, but it's almost fair time, so we're all used to it by now.  As for the fishing, we're still catching crappie.  My best luck has been at 25-30 feet of water, and 18-20 feet deep with a tip jig with minnow.  As sun the sun goes up, move to the shady side of the trees.  After about 10:00, go home and cool down, because it seems to shut down after that.

As I spoke about last week, the archery shoot for MissouriWhitetails.com was great!  Very hot, but lots of family fun.  At five years old, Kole Kenyon received his first archery medal.  You should have seen the smile not only on Kole's face, but on everyone in our group, especially his dad. Father's Day is coming up this weekend, so make sure you take time to thank your dad, step dad, grandfat

Due to scheduling issues, I wasn't able to get my son out turkey hunting during youth season. The only day we had to get a bird during the regular season was  yesterday.  The last day of the season.  And no, I am not a great hunter.
