The State Fair Community College Athletic Department will host the 2nd annual Mouse Races fund-raiser on Sept. 30 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with the races starting at 6:30 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available for the event. A $75 sponsorship entitles the donor to sponsor a mouse, name the mouse and receive two tickets for admission to the event. At the $350 sponsorship level, the donor or their business will get to sponsor a race. The business name or the donor’s name will be displayed for the duration of the race on one of the video boards. This sponsorship also includes four admission tickets. Sponsorship form can be found at sfccmoroadrunners.com/support/Fundraisers.

Admission is $10 per person with advanced purchase, or $15 at the door. Participants must be at least 21 years-old enter. There will be a concession stand with food and beer for purchase; smoking is not permitted. Advanced ticket purchases can be made in the Davis Center (gym) on the Sedalia campus.

The event will consist of multiple races inside an angled wooden track with six mice in each race. Additionally, other side games and a silent auction will be held.

“This event was extremely popular last year and we are excited to do it again,” said SFCC Softball Head Coach Michele Rupard. “We are also accepting donations for our silent auction and appreciate all of the community’s support.”

The funds raised will be used to support the outdoor athletic complex. For questions and sponsorship opportunities, call SFCC Athletics at (660) 596-7443 or email Coach Rupard at mrupard@sfccmo.edu.
