Sedalia’s 2013 Halloween Events Scare Up Fun for Kids
We’ve got a little time before Halloween gets here, but for the kids, it can’t get here soon enough! Everyone enjoys the adventure of dressing up, and the anticipation of what you might take home can be pretty exiting. Well, parents, don’t worry about it too much. There are plenty of ideas for places and activities you can do with your youngin’ that don’t only involve candy.
Get the kids in the mood for the season with the Quisenberry Pumpkin Sale.
There will be a Pumpkin Sale to benefit the Quisenberry School House. It’ll be held on Saturday, October 19 beginning at 9:00 a.m. They’ll have pumpkins, gourds, and mums along with hot dogs, popcorn and apple cider.
Sylvia G Thompson Residence Center will Host a Haunted House.
New this year, there will be a haunted maze at the American Legion Building.It’ll be on October 25, 26, 27, at the AL Building, 2016 West Main Street from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The cost is $3 a person, and children will be given goodie bags while supplies last. This is sponsored by the Sylvia G Thompson Residence Center and the proceeds will go to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
The 7th Annual Waverly Haunted Hayride is Friday and Saturday Oct. 25 and 26.
The event will be held at the Waverly Community Building. Ticket sales start at 6pm and the 1st hayride leaves at 7pm. Cost is $5. Riders on 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
The 2013 Trick or Trot for TaTas 5k and Monster Dash Kids Fun Run will take place October 26.It will be held Saturday, Oct. 26 at Clover Dell park.
The Race begins at 9:00 a.m. and the last minute registration takes place at 8:00 a.m. Join us for the Trick or Trot. Come in costume because there will be prizes for best guy, best girl and best group costume. The best costume for kids aged 2-6 and 7-12 will also win prizes. A portion of the proceeds will go to the BRHC Health Care Center Foundation Cancer Services Fund. All runners will receive a t-shirt.
The Noonday Optimist Club will be holding their Haunted Hayride.
They will be holding it on Saturday, Oct. 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the Missouri State Fairgrounds, west of the Grandstand. The cost for adults is $5, the cost for children is $4, and 5 and under get on for free. They’ll have the hayride, hotdogs, potato chips, drink and candy.
Join the Northside Christian Church at 500 North Ridgeview Drive for Family Fun Fest.
It’ll be in Warrensburg, on October 31, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. They have a full night of food, games and fun planned. If you have questions, contact Shamus at 747-8632.
