Sedalia Police Reports for July 7, 2023

Early Thursday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Lamine Avenue and West 6th Street. After an on-scene investigation, one female suspect was arrested. Cheyanne Marie Wiser, 22, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Failure to Restrain a Child in a Proper Car Seat.

Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Quincy Avenue to investigate a report of someone trying to kick open the home owner’s door. Officers arrived on scene and searched the area. Officers gathered information to generate a report on the incident.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard on a vehicle occupied by two individuals on the morning of July 2nd. An on-scene investigation revealed the male had entered the victim’s car, refused to get out, and then used fear to order the vehicle owner around town for several hours. Hakeem Stephon Dickson, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Kidnapping in the 3rd Degree. Dickson was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Thursday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of South Summit Avenue in reference to a suicidal subject. Officers located the subject, and found to not be suicidal. Officers checked his information with Dispatch, and he was found to have an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Driving While Revoked. Robert S. Moore, 42, of Clarksville Tennessee, was arrested and transported to the Petits County Jail. Moore was booked with a bond of $1500 cash or surety.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Police Department lobby in the 300 block of West 3rd Street to take a report of harassment. A report as taken to document the incident Thursday night. There was no further information in the report.

Wednesday night, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in the area of South Ohio Avenue and East 7th Street. When Officers arrived, they contacted the subject, who was highly intoxicated. The suspect had thrown furniture in the middle of the roadway. Travis Lee Brown, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12-hour safekeeping hold due to intoxication.

Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of East 4th Street Wednesday night in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke with all parties involved. Officers were unable to determine a primary physical aggressor. A 12-hour log was completed.

Sedalia Police responded to the Katy Depot, 600 East 3rd Street Thursday morning in reference to property damage. Chloe Anderson stated her vehicle was keyed earlier that morning. A suspect was named and was contacted. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.

Thursday afternoon, Officers met with a subject in the lobby who found a wallet near the intersection of Sellers Road and East Broadway Boulevard. Attempts to contact the owner were not successful, so the wallet was placed into evidence for safekeeping.

Thursday morning, Officers met with a victim in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to theft. The victim, who was not named in the report, stated she was misled by a scam email and sent several thousand dollars to a scammer. The victim alerted her bank, and a theft report was generated. There is no suspect information at this time.

Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 500 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to property damage. The victim stated that the previous evening, he had parked his vehicle in the area for a few hours. When he returned, he found the windshield had been smashed. Security footage from a nearby business was reviewed, and a suspect was identified using it. The suspect, who was not named in the report, was issued a municipal summons for Property Damage.

On the afternoon of July 5th, Officers came into contact with an intoxicated individual near the intersection of West Saline Street and North Summit Avenue. After being checked out by medical staff at the BRHC, he was transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jamal Pigram, 37, of Sedalia, was placed under a 12-hour protective custody Safekeeping hold.
