Sedalia Police Reports for July 6, 2023

Early Thursday morning, a member of the Sedalia Bike Patrol Unit was patrolling the downtown area, in the 200 block of South Ohio Avenue. A subject on a bicycle was contacted for equipment violations. Consent was given to search the subject’s person and property. Drug paraphernalia was located. It was seized for destruction. No charges are being sought.

Wednesday afternoon, Officers responded to the Bob Taylor’s Barber Shop, 1421 South Limit Avenue, in reference to a report of a hit and run accident. Upon arrival, Officers met with the victim, who stated his vehicle was struck while parked on the lot behind the business. The striking vehicle left without providing any information. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Jiffy Stop, 1722 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a theft report Wednesday morning. Earlier that morning, a patron of the store stole a handle and hose from a pump before leaving. There was no further information in the report.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Buckner Court Wednesday afternoon in reference to a domestic disturbance. Both subjects claimed the other physically assaulted them. A 12-hour log was completed to document the incident.
