Sedalia Farmer's Market Readying For Spring Season With Training

So I know a lot of us are looking forward to getting to warmer weather. Part of what we love, obviously, is being out in it...but there's a lot more to it. I mean, not only is there more to do outside, but there are more regular events. Plenty of chances for you to go out and have fun, but also to do some shopping or getting a little home inspiration. I know some of you really like hitting up the Sedalia Farmer's Market, as well. Well, it's not quite ready to come back yet, but they're starting the process for the new season. That means they need to get everyone on the same page with what's required to be a vendor at the SFM.

Sedalia Area Farmers' Market is anxiously preparing for its 16th season! We will hold the annual Vendor Interest, Informational and Food Safety Training on Thursday, February 15th at 6 pm. The meeting will be located in the Thompson Conference Center, Side A (west side) on the south side of the State Fair Community Campus. The room is located inside the Heckart Science and Allied Health Center. A picture of campus will be posted in the event! We require each 2024 vendor to attend this meeting.

The event is around three hours. If you can't make it but you know you want to be involved, you can contact them and they'll send you a video. But they do note that even if you start later in the season, you have to watch the video in order to become a vendor.

It's for everyone's safety, anyway. Kirk Martin with the Pettis County Health Department will be presenting briefly about health regulations and food safety (including updates to cottage law). Jeff Root with Missouri Department of Weights and Measures will be available at 5:30 pm to certify scales. There's a little charge for that, but it's not huge.
