Everyone around here is probably well aware that today is a very important day.  Veterans Day isn't something that a lot of us can take lightly.  We have brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers, and friends who have served in one way or another or are still serving today.  So I think a lot of us are just looking for different ways to say thank you.

I have another for you, if you're still thinking you might need something to check out for Veterans Day.  La Monte High School at 301 South Washington in La Monte is holding an important event.  The La Monte High School Student Council is hosting their Veterans Day Assembly today at 8:30 a.m.  The FBLA students will serve breakfast for the veterans and their spouses beginning at 8:00 a.m. in the new gym lobby.

Let the young people of today really know just everything they're thankful for.  Join them and bring your family along to thank the veterans yourselves.   The more appreciation that these veterans get, the better.  We can never say thank you enough.

And, while I've got you here I thought I'd remind you about another great event the La Monte school is going to do. They're going to host their Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 16.  Patrons 55 years of age and over are invited to attend that one.  Carry out orders and delivery will also be available.  Call the high school for your orders or to make reservations to attend.  After all, a head count is always helpful to make sure everyone gets fed.  The number for that is 347-5439.

Thankfully,

Behka
