If you've never experienced a Hurts Donut, then you've got to take a few minutes and head over to the Maurices parking lot and try one.

For the unfamiliar, Hurts Donuts are a little bit different. First of all Hurts Donuts are larger than regular donuts. Second, it's less a donut to dunk in your coffee and more of a donut you might have when you actually want dessert.

For example, they've got the Cookie Monster donut. A vanilla blue iced donut with Oreo Cookies. Or, you could get the S'mores donut complete with a scorched marshmallow perched on top of the donut with graham cracker crumbles. And you can't forget the Simpson's inspired donut the Homer. It looks just like the iconic donut he eats in the show. That's just the yeast donuts.

When it comes to cake donuts they have creations like the Grape Balls of Fire donut that comes with a fireball. Or a donut that uses Fruity Pebbles as one of its toppings. The more time you spend on Hurts website, the more ridiculous the donuts get.

Regionally, if you want to experience Hurts Donuts you need to travel to Springfield, which has two locations. That said, on Friday, November 3, 2023 Hurts Donuts will be bringing their Emergency Donut Vehicle to Sedalia. They'll be set up near Maurices in the Thompson Hills Shopping Center.

I'll be honest, Hurts Donuts is a little too decadent and sweet for my tastes. That said, you better believe as the guy who usually buys the donuts for the radio station, that, yes, on Friday, November 3, there will be a box of Hurts Donuts hanging out in our breakroom. Just don't take the plain glazed donut, that one's mine.
