This weekend I went on my first adventure out of Sedalia! I tagged along with Huntin' Harry and headed to Gusher Days in Sweet Springs. Man was it fun!

There was all kinds of neat stuff there. I really liked watching the archery competition. They played Tic-Tac-Toe which was pretty cool. Some of those guys had some serious skills with a bow. We also checked out the Baby Contest. There were over 40 babies entered! It was kind of funny to see so many chubby little humans in one place. Sadly, the carnival wasn't running while we were there, but those rides looked great.

Now the best part by far was the Smoking Competition. Smoking like BBQ, not cigarettes. Harry and I were lucky enough to judge along with two local restaurant owners. There were 10 different competitors, with a dish for three different categories: Pork, Beef, and Miscellaneous. Luckily Harry had warned me that I had to pace myself and only have one or two bites of each dish, but man was that hard! The meat was so amazing, I chowed down pretty hard on a couple of them. By the end of the day, I felt like I was going to explode.

Overall it was a great time. Thanks to Bruce and everyone at Sweet Springs for having us out, and I can't wait for next year!
