Happy Birthday, Willie!
Kids, this week marks a big anniversary, well, birthday. It's huge in the country music world and I'm sure it can be to some of you: It's Willie Nelson's 80th birthday!

The sports world was turned on it's collective ear yesterday, and the general news and social media today, regarding Jason Collins "coming out" as a gay man in a new Sports Illustrated issue. Make that a "black, gay man," as if that makes it any more newsworthy.
A man in the sports spotlight announces he's gay, and this is what the nation is talking about?
I live not far from the main thoroughfare in Sedalia known as 65 highway or Limit street. It's one of the major streets in town, most people know it. And for some reason, often on the weekend, I will hear loud sounds coming from this general vicinity It sounds like a car speeding along the street. It sounds like tires squealing. It sounds like loud music in car stereos. Maybe you guys can explain it to me.
What is the point of doing all that?
According to the SFCC Athletic Department, former Men's Basketball Head Coach Bill Barton has been elected to the Region 16 Hall of Fame. During his tenure at SFCC, Barton recorded over 600 wins as head coach. Barton is no stranger halls of fame. He is in the SFCC Hall of Fame, The Missouri State Sports Hall of Fame and the National Junior College Hall of Fame, and in my opinion, he belongs in even more.
We have all been taken in by the coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombing, the aftermath, and the search for the suspects that ended in the death of one and the apprehension of the other. It was another example of social media and our need for "instant gratification and information" coming into play before accuracy, and admittedly, as a member of the media, it made me a little embarrassed. Instead of "getting it right," it seemed a lot of the media outlets we have come to rely on focused on "getting it first." And it wasn't correct.
Another observation that came to me over the weekend while keeping up on the latest, like many of you I'm sure, was "What about the tragedy in West, Texas?"
Its Wednesday! Time for another installment of "Would You Rather" to power you through your Humpday. This time we ask if you'd rather destroy your beauty with a blemish that will be sure to get people to stare, or crash the computers of multiple friends, family and coworkers. Remember, no ifs, ands or buts!
Kids, I think we all are a little taken aback by what happened yesterday afternoon in Boston. I heard about it a little after it happened Monday afternoon, and I wrestled with myself about it all afternoon. But I made a decision.

It's that time again! Our "Would You Rather" Wednesday. This time we dive in to scenarios that would make most extremely embarrassed. Remember, you can only pick one or the other, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
I have always considered myself a good Air Force Brat as my dad served in the Air Force for over 20 years. While I only was at three bases, Castle Air Force Base in California; Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany; and Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, I got to see a lot of great planes. I love the B-2 Stealth Bomber, A-10 Thunderbolt; T-38 that are stationed at Whiteman. I have enjoyed going to air shows to see everything from the old biplanes to the Mustangs to the F-4 Phantom to the F-16s. However, I was a watching a movie Turbulent Skies and got to thinking that I never have seen an SR-71 fly in person.
