April 3, 2013 Registration for the Go Big of Go Home 5K race in remembrance of Blaine Whitworth begins at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at 115 N. Holden St. in Warrensburg.
The race welcomes serious runners, beginners, joggers and walkers to the family fun race. All proceeds will go to the Blaine Whitworth Go Big or Go Home fund. The fund was set up in Whitworth's name after he died in a shooting last fall.
April 2, 2013 Kids, as we all know, parenting can be hard. And if you're new to it, there are so many more safety features and gadgets and whathasits than we had when I was a kid. Heck, I remember my Mother having to tell me to sit down in the car and not stand on the seat. So we could all use a little guidance when it comes to kid safety.

April 1, 2013 Kids, around this time of year a lot of groups are gearing up for the big Relay for Life Fundraiser. It's a great cause, and I'm sure all of us in some way or another have been touched by cancer.
March 30, 2013 Several Easter Egg hunts that were scheduled over Easter weekend. Each year the Sedalia Parks and Rec puts on an egg hunt the weekend before. However, snow cancelled it and moved it to today (Mar. 30). The National Weather Forecast had originally said the forecast for rain wasn't supposed to come until the afternoon, but it showed up just before 10 a.m.

March 28, 2013 Kids, when I was a youngin, I did some stuff with the Liberty Center. At Smith-Cotton, sometimes you'd do something in art or music or whichever, and your paths would cross with the Liberty Center Association.
March 28, 2013 Well, the Easter Bunny is on his way, the snow is gone for now. I heard we could have two more snow storms, and one of them could be a whopper. I hope not, because if it snows next week, we'll have to hunt turkeys in snow camo and snow shoes. That won't be fun, so let's pray for no snow.
March 27, 2013 Kids, as you probably know, I'm a fan of animals. Well, I wouldn't ask them for their autograph or anything, since they don't speak English and lack the ability to write, but I do enjoy them quite a bit.
Any kind of show on Netflix or whatever about animals, it's bound to be watched at some point by me. Funny animals, animal documentaries, animal training shows, you name it. So I like to take some time out of my life to help out an animal when I can. That's why I've always adopted my pets from the Animal Shelter. I would hope you would do that, too! Well, AnimalFAIR is a group that runs a no-kill shelter here in our area. They're doing a fundraiser that seems like a lot of fun, that I wanted to tell you about.
