2 weeks ago Kids, I know that we're all busy. You work, you have to take care of your family, you have to tend to your friends, and you certainly have to be sure to get some time in with the pets. So when it comes to the summer, sometimes it's really easy to just take the easy way out and send the children to the pool. And that's great, don't get me wrong. But sometimes you need something else to capture their interest. Something active. Something where they're learning things and interacting with other kids, and having fun. So why not sign your kids up for a few of the summer sports out at State Fair Community College? They've got a lot to choose from, as you can see.
Bottom's Up is bringing stand-up comedy to Sedalia this weekend as they host the "As Yet Unnamed Comedy Roadshow" this Saturday (June 15) at 8 p.m. This traveling group of stand-up comics have performed throughout Mid-Missouri and include comics Bill Fisher, Patrick Mahon, Nick Gorges, Justin Luke, Tom Skinner, Louis Doerflinger, Adam Boughton and Rob Harris.

While I was never a real rebel or a person to get in trouble, I guess things were just different in the 80s and 90s.
3 weeks ago Kids, when I was a youngin, my parents told me time and time again that I was going to go to college. Not only was I going to go to college, but that I was going to get scholarships. It was pretty much a "you do this, or else!" situation, only with parental love and less threatening.
3 weeks ago I attended my daughter's first ballet with the Studio A Dance Conservatory last weekend at the in the Heckart Performing Arts Center at Smith-Cotton High School. The Studio A Dance Conservatory is led by Anna Crumley. This was the third year for this event, so the theme was “Third Time's a Charm.” Over 120 kids had been practicing ballet, tap, hip hop, point, freelance and more since August for this one moment to shine.
