3 weeks ago Kids, I don't know about you, but as a kid every year our local church would have a Vacation Bible School. It was always a lot of fun for us because sometimes kids you didn't know would go and you'd meet new people.
The Great Outdoors Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Sedalia Rod and Gun Club. It will be a day filled with archery, shooting, fishing and all sorts of outdoor fun for the whole family. But which outdoor activity is your favorite?
3 weeks ago Kids, this weekend I got to head out to the Sedalia DQ Grill & Chill. Now, normally I would be there to stuff my face, but this time I was there for a more important calling.
Jorge and the crew at DQ were hosting the folks and vehicles for the upcoming Midwest Dragfest. This is going to be a huge event coming up on June 1 and 2 on the Fairgrounds. And, the best part is, they're going to be doing this for charity. They're going to be raising money for the Children's Therapy Center and the Sedalia Food Bank. I think everybody can agree those are great causes to support, and if you can do it in a fun way, even better!

4 weeks ago Right off the bat, our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected by the tornado in Moore, Okla. and anyone who sustained any damage from the weather in our Area. Dukes & Boots will be taking donations for the Moore victims of the deadly F-5 tornado. Please donate, no donation is to small. Remember, this is going to be a crazy weather season and it's going to get worse, so be prepared. Have you children know what to do in case they are playing outside and the sirens go off. They should know what to do if you aren't with them.
Four concerts were announced by Missouri State Fair Director Mark Wolfe, completing the series of eight concerts for this year’s State Fair, to be held Aug. 8-18 in Sedalia. Added to the line-up will be the concerts Foreigner and Starship featuring Mickey Thomas Aug. 9, Chubby Checker Aug. 13, Lee Brice and Tyler Farr Aug.15, and rockers Three Days Grace and Hinder Aug. 17. Tickets will be available June 17 through Ticketmaster.com.
