Sedalia STING Unit Find Meth and Illegal Prescription Pills on South Osage

Just after 4:00 this morning (July 4), the Sedalia Police Department STING unit served a no-knock search warrant  along with other officers at Apt. 1 at 1319 South Osage. Upon entry to the apartment, officers located one adult and one child. The press release states the adult resisted arrest but was eventually taken into custody without injury.

At 5:53 this morning (July 3), the Sedalia Police STING unit and other officers served a search warrant at 1702 South Montgomery. Upon arrival, officers located crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and drug packaging supplies.

Warrensburg Pine Street Bars Pass Undercover Alcohol Compliance Checks

The Warrensburg Police Department and the University of Central Missouri’s Department of Public Safety conducted alcohol compliance checks of local businesses that possess a liquor license on June 28, 2013. The purpose of compliance checks is to assess the level of availability of alcohol to minors within the community and prevent the sale of alcohol to minors. Underage buyers, working under the supervision of local law enforcement, went into businesses that possesses a liquor license and attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages.

Sedalia Police Sobriety Checkpoint

Sedalia Police Make Multiple Arrests at Sobriety Checkpoint Over the Weekend

The Sedalia Police conducted their Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday night (June 29). Traffic from Thompson Blvd. traveling to 16th Street was directed up to State Fair Boulevard where several police officers stopped the cars. The sobriety checkpoint lasted from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m.  As of 12:30 a.m. there were over 200 drivers that went through the checkpoint and there were five arrests made for various charges including driving under the influence, open container in the vehicle and driving while suspended. The full results are expected to be released this Wednesday.

Suspect Arrested in Connection with Recent Armed Burglary in Sedalia

Members of the Sedalia STING Unit and other Sedalia Police officers arrested a suspect this morning (June 27) in connection with an armed burglary earlier this week.  The subject, Michael L. Shepard of Sedalia, was arrested for two Pettis County Warrants issued with no bond from charges of assault, armed criminal action, a felon in possession of a firearm and felonious restraint.

Sedalia Police Searching for Armed Burglary Suspect

Around 3:50 this morning (June 25), the Sedalia police responded to a home in the 700 block of East 9th on a burglary call. The victim said he had been unable to sleep and heard a noise in the back room of the house. When the victim investigated the noise, he found the white male suspect with a firearm hiding in the house.

Alleged John Rich Stalker Arrested

A 36-year-old attorney from Brentwood, Tenn. was arrested over the weekend and charged with aggravated stalking in a case involving John Rich. Mark Christopher Sevier is accused of stalking Rich, even after police issued restraining orders in July and August 2012. The two men have a relationship that goes back to at least 2005.
