I'm finally getting back in the swing of things after the awesome MO Kids Outdoors and Whitetails Unlimited Banquet.  We started setting up around 8 a.m. on Friday and tore down at 12:30 Sunday morning.  Thanks to the awesome group of friends that helped set up and run the event.  It wouldn't have run nearly as smooth if it weren't for those volunteers.  Thanks again to the business owners and residents of Sedalia and Pettis County, as well as the United Bowhunters of Missouri, who had members drive as far as from the Missouri/Iowa border to attend.

The weather wasn't ideal, but you guys came out in numbers, with over 400 in attendance, including landowners, kids that hunted with us, Wounded Warriors guides and our friend Eric Statler, the quadriplegic veteran who we've been hunting with.  It was a packed house with an awesome auction run by John Dick and games run by the State Fair Strutters, NWTF Chapter and the Lovely Ladies from the Hair and Spa Salon of Sedalia.  Thanks to Terri Hunter and her husband Donnie for the great job on the silent auction, and of course, Dale Malone and the staff at Dukes & Boots for serving the adult beverages, along with the awesome food from Table of 5 catering.  It was definitely a community supported event that will fund turkey and deer hunts for our youth, those with special needs, the Wounded Warrior hunts and our field days, so again, thank you.

Now, the California Shooting Club Archery 3D Shoot is this Sunday, Jan. 20.  We'll be leaving Sedalia around 8 a.m. from the radio station if anyone wants to follow us down there.  On Jan 26 and 27, we have the Icebreaker Classic with the Saturday competition at State Fair and and at Twin Lakes on Sunday, with daily trophies, overall trophies and door prizes.  February 2-3 is the 2013 Cabin Fever Sports Show where there'll be something for everyone, including hunter and actor Marshall Teague and the first ever Pop Up 3D Archery Shoot for cash, prizes and trophies.  Remember, you must bring your own bow and at least five arrows.  Rusty Toad Archery will be there so you can check your bow and get some some tips from the pros.  If you have a new business, hunting club or want to get involved with the show, booth space is going fast, so sign up here.

Until next week.  Shoot straight!
