What You Need to Know About Walmart's Black Friday Event

This post has been updated with a list of door busters and deals Walmart will be offering during their first two sale events, as well as a list of wireless phones that will be on sale during their phone event on Saturday November 14.

Do you like to do some of your holiday shopping at Walmart? Like or not, I think a lot of us will wind up there trying to do some of our Christmas shopping. It's just hard to avoid when you live in the heartland. Well this year, because of coronavirus concerns, Walmart's doing Black Friday differently. Here's what you need to know.

Walmart will be offering Black Friday deals and door busters throughout the month of November. The offerings will start online Wednesday night November 4th and culminate with offerings online the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving and in stores the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. The store is calling their Black Friday event "Black Friday Deals for Days."

Here's how it works. According to Walmart, "Each savings event will begin online at Walmart.com and continue in Walmart stores. And new this year, customers will have the option to pick up their online Black Friday order through Walmart’s contact-free curbside pickup service."

Walmart has broken up November into three different sales events. Here's what you can expect from each one:

Event One begins online Wednesday November 4 at 6:00 PM CST, and in stores Saturday November 7. Online deals include an onn. brand 42-inch UHD Roku TV for only $88 and popular Hotel Style bath towels for $5. In store deals will begin Saturday Morning at 5:00 AM CST with items like the Magic Bullet Blender available for $15 and a New Bright 1:6 scale RC Truck for $40. New deals will also go live on the store's website.

Hot Wheels Track Builder System for $15 (was $29.97, $14.97 savings)
Instant Pot Viva 6-QT Pressure Cooker for $49 (was $99, $50 savings)

Event Two begins online Wednesday November 11 at 6:00 PM CST, and in stores Saturday November 14 at 5:00 AM CST. This second round of deals includes electronics like TVs, computers, tablets, music and movies. Additionally deals will be available on items like clothing, home goods, small appliances and sporting goods. New deals will go live on Walmart's website at 11:00 PM CST Friday November 13. Walmart will also be holding it's biggest wireless phone event in stores and on line November 14 where customers can save on Samsung phones and the iPhone.

Event Three happens Wednesday November 25 at 6:00 PM CST, and in stores Black Friday November 27 at 5:00 AM CST. The store is promising, "great prices on even more electronics, toys and gifts across apparel and home, as well as seasonal décor favorites." New deals will also be placed online at 11:00PM CST Thursday November 26. Specific deals are not available for event three.

If you are shopping in store, Walmart will be metering customers into the store to keep capacity down, masks will be required, and carts will be sanitized for customers. The retailer also says they will have increased quantities of door busters to make sure as many customers as possible can take advantage of the store's deals.
