Warrensburg Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Pine Street early Thursday morning in which two people were injured.

A press release from the Warrensburg Police Department says around 1:30, patrol officers heard what they believed were gunshots in the area of the 100 block of W. Pine Street.

When the offices arrived on scene, they found a blood trail and shell casings on the street. As the officers interviewed people in the area, they were reportedly told a 22-year old female victim had been struck in the wrist by gunfire and taken to a local hospital.

As the officers continued to investigate, they discovered further evidence of the shooting (property damage and shell casings). Police were notified of another victim, a 21-year old female, also being treated at the hospital.

The second victim had been struck in the shoulder area. Both victim’s injuries are non-life threatening. Both victims live in Warrensburg, but their names were not released.

Police say the only suspect information they have at this time, is a heavy set male with face length dread locks.

Anyone with information about the shooting, is asked to call the Warrensburg Police Department at 660-747-9133.
