The new Culver's Restaurant in Warrensburg at Route 50 and Maguire opens tomorrow morning, Monday March 2, but Warrensburg Chamber of Commerce members and their families got a sneak peak of the new restaurant at Saturday Morning's ribbon cutting.

The franchise, staff, and Culver family pulled out all the stops introducing themselves to the Warrensburg community at the ribbon cutting. Craig Culver, and other members of the restaurant's founding family mingled with their guests, made sure everyone got their fill of Culver's food and custard, and gave their staff a stress test of how to handle a busy restaurant while keeping their cool and providing excellent customer service.

I enjoyed a Double ButterBurger with cheese along with their signature cheese curds. The burger was fresh, tasty, and served hot with the cheese melted perfectly. It had been about twenty years since I tried their signature Wisconsin cheese curds with marinara sauce, and I liked them more than I remembered.

I enjoyed my burger with Warrensburg Chamber Members Relations Coordinator Rhonda Mosley, who hadn't experienced Culver's before. She tried a menu item I had never tried, Culver's Beef Pot Roast sandwich with gravy, and she was impressed with the tenderness and flavor.

I even got a chance to spend a couple of minutes with Craig Culver and franchise owners Matt and Nate Mitchell. Matt Mitchell and his wife Jeannie also own Culver's restaurants in Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raymore, Independence and North Kansas City. Nate will be running the Warrensburg restaurant and I couldn't be more impressed with how down to earth everyone involved in Culver's is.

It was easy to see watching Craig Culver and everyone involved in the Warrensburg restaurant that customer service and getting it right are values the restaurant chain places a great importance on. If they can deliver on that to their customers every day like they did yesterday, they will be doing something that many fast food / fast casual restaurants have a hard time doing in Warrensburg. That itself, will make the restaurant a popular destination for the area.
