Veteran’s Day 2022: The Deals, Discounts, and Free Food

Veteran's Day is this Friday!  I know we'll all be celebrating, and there's a really great way to say thanks.

So basically I've gone around The Internet to find all the goodies out there for the Veterans this Friday.  Now, this is just chain stuff and things that are posted online.  I found most of these at The Military Wallet.  But you know you don't wanna go through all that stuff, you just want the list right here!  So, here goes.  We'll start with the free or discounted food out there.  Keep in mind, again, these are national chain deals, but I'm sure a lot of local places are also offering specials.  In fact, you might check the comments on this post to see some more local deals.

And of course it probably should go without saying, but if you're counting on a deal or a discount, you might call ahead before you go just to make sure the Sedalia location is participating.  And, make sure you bring your ID or proof of service, they'll need that.

Bandana’s BBQ Veterans Day Discount
Free Budget Buster Meal for all active duty and veteran military members.

Casey’s General Stores Veterans Day Deal
Free coffee. In addition, $1 will be donated for every online or in-app purchase of a large pizza and two-liter Pepsi brand drink, up to $50,000 total.

Country Kitchen Restaurants Veterans Day Deal
Free Country Scramble.

Fazoli’s Veterans Day Deal
Free spaghetti with Meat or Marinara with eFamily/app or buy one get one free with Meat or Marinara with the app.

Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers Veterans Day Deal
Veterans and current military personnel receive cards for free Freddy’s Original Double combo meal on Veterans Day. No purchase is necessary to receive or redeem the card.

Little Caesars Pizza Veterans Day Deal
Free 4-piece Detroit-style deep dish pepperoni pizza and a 20-ounce Pepsi product for veterans and active military members.

Perkin’s Restaurant & Bakery Veterans Day Deal
Participating restaurants are offering current service members and veterans a free Magnificent Seven meal. Beverage not included.

Starbucks Veterans Day Deal
Starbucks is treating veterans, active duty service members, and spouses to a free tall (12oz) hot or iced coffee. In addition, Starbucks is donating $200,000, split evenly between Team Red, White & Blue and Team Rubicon to support the veteran community.

Wendy’s Veterans Day Deal
FREE small breakfast combo. Offer valid in-restaurant or at the drive-thru. Not valid for mobile orders or at kiosks.

Now, what about the non-food stuff?  There are plenty of sales and discounts for Veteran's Day, right?  Right.  Again, same rules apply - maybe check before hand to be sure the Sedalia locations are participating, and bring your ID.  And again, these are only chain deals - the local places will surely have some sales, too.

Amtrak Military Discount
10% off of train travel for active-duty and veterans. This offer is valid for veterans when qualifying proof of veterans status is presented. Active-duty U.S. military personnel can also save on travel by selecting ‘Military’ from the passenger type drop-down menu to receive a 10% discount.

Big Lots Military Discount
10% discount for active military personnel and veterans who are members of the company’s Big Rewards program.

Buckle Military Discount
Military members, their spouses, and dependents receive 10% off online purchases every day at Buckle.com. This offer is also available in stores.

Dollar General Military Discount
Dollar General offers an 11% off discount on the second Wednesday of each month using DG Digital Coupons to any active military personnel and veterans.

Great Clips Free Haircut on Veterans Day
Great Clips will be offering a free haircut to military veterans on Veterans Day. If a non-veteran comes into Great Clips on Veterans Day and gets a haircut, they’ll be given a card that any veteran can redeem for a free haircut.

Kohl's Veterans Day Deal
Kohl’s offers active military, veterans, retirees and their immediate family members a 15% discount on purchases made on Mondays, in-store only.

Lowe's Military Discount
Lowe’s Companies, Inc. will offer all active, reserve, honorably discharged, retired military personnel and their immediate family members a 10 percent discount on in-store U.S. purchases made during the Veterans Day holiday.

Staples Military Discount
Veterans and active military members will receive 25% off in-store purchases.

Walgreens Military Discount
Veterans, military, and their family receive a 20% off eligible regular price items with myWalgreens® in store only.
