One Versailles man was injured and another arrested Tuesday night shortly after 10 p.m. in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Camden County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2005 Cadillac Escalade driven by 27-year-old Nicky L. Taylor of Versailles, failed to negotiate a curve in the 800 block of Westwood Drive, ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a tree.

Taylor was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was reportedly uninjured. However, his passenger, 61-year-old Keven W. Snapp of Versailles, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Mercy EMS. Snapp was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, either.

Taylor was later arrested by the Patrol at 10:39 p.m. and charged with driving while intoxicated with injury, and careless and imprudent driving involving an accident. He was taken to the Camden County Jail with no bond.

The Escalade was totaled and towed from the scene.
