Taking a future-focused approach that will build synergy between marketing and public relations programs and equip students with skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing professional environment, the University of Central Missouri is moving its academic public relations (PR) program to the Harmon College of Business and Professional Studies. With this move, effective for fall 2015, UCM becomes the second university nationwide, and the first institution west of the Mississippi River, to house a certified PR program in an accredited business school.

The Performing Arts Series and Department of Music at the University of Central Missouri will present the UCM Opera Theatre production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, in Hendricks Hall.  The performance is part of the Performing Arts Series Premier Series, which showcases the best of UCM student and faculty talent.

The Central Missouri Mules shot rounds of 279 and 287 to build a big lead after two rounds of the third MIAA-sanctioned event of the season, the Washburn Invitational at Topeka Country Club. The Mules sit at two-under par as a team and hold a 27-shot lead heading in to today's third and final round.

The Jennies golf team shot 10 strokes better in round two than they did in round one, firing a team total of 331 en route to an eighth place finish at the UMSL Triton Invitational at Norwood Hill Country Club. The Jennies two-round team total was 672 after an opening round 341.

Central Missouri's Erika Kinsey and Caniggia Raynor have been named the MIAA Field Athletes of the Week. For Kinsey, it is her first conference award of the outdoor season and ffith in 2014-15. Raynor picks up his second outdoor award and third overall.
