Beth Rutt, Warrensburg, was named the 30th recipient of the James C. Kirkpatrick Excellence in Governance Award by the University of Central Missouri Student Government Association in a ceremony Thursday evening, March 26, in the James C. Kirkpatrick Library.

Rutt received the award in recognition of her longtime commitment to UCM and her role in public education and governance in the surrounding community. The SGA Internal Issues Committee selects the recipient of the annual award from nominees who promote good governmental procedures, efficiency and economy in government, and policies that are in the public’s best interest.

Jackson Schnurbusch went 3-for-3 with three RBI and Ricky Rivera tossed 6.1 innings of four-hit ball as the Mules beat Central Oklahoma 4-2 in the series finale on Sunday at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.  With the win, the Mules claim their first series win of the season.

Central Missouri track and field began their march towards the outdoor championships at the Pittsburg State Open.  UCM had a number of top finishers personal-bests in their first action of the season.

Central Missouri softball completed their weekend schedule with Southwest Baptist by sweeping the Bearcats in Bolivar. UCM won a pair of low-scoring affairs, 3-2 and 5-3 to up their record to 23-9.
