The University of Central Missouri is supporting Whiteman Air Force Base in its sexual assault prevention efforts by providing an alternate location option for Airmen who prefer to complete their annual training requirement at an off-base location.  The program also is open to members of the community.

“At UCM, we are proud to be a military friendly campus,” said Amy Kiger, director of violence and substance abuse prevention, “and are thankful for this opportunity to give back to our service men and women.”

Whiteman has contracted with Jeff Bucholtz, a representative of We End Violence, to provide the training for Airmen. On Mar. 24, Bucholtz will present “Together We Can: Understanding and Preventing Sexual Violence” in W.C. Morris Nahm Auditorium from 7 to 8:30 p.m. This program uses audience interaction, popular culture analysis, and performance to take a critical look at the ways in which culture facilitates sexual violence.  “Together We Can” is a thought- provoking, motivational, and pragmatic tool for those with the desire to build a world free from sexual violence.

We End Violence is an organization that provides lecture, campaign, workshop, performance and consultation services for military audiences, individuals at rape crisis centers, universities, and high school classrooms.
