The Performing Arts Series at the University of Central Missouri will host pianist Thomas Schumacher in a concert, “Eastman at Central 2015,” at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 9, in Hart Recital Hall. The event is part of the Guest Artist Series sponsored by the UCM Department of Music.

Members of the University of Central Missouri campus are saddened by the loss of Kiernan Hogan, a 19-year-old student from the St. Louis area, who passed away Thursday, Feb. 26, in her room in an on-campus apartment. The university is reaching out to her friends and other individuals who may have known her, and offering support through the Counseling Center. University students, faculty and staff are asked to keep Kiernan's family and friends in their thoughts and prayers.

Central Missouri wrestling finished ninth as a team at the NCAA-II Super Regional on Sunday, with 38.0 team points total. No. 2 Frank Cagnina (149) will defend his national title at the NCAA-II National Championships, after earning his second straight regional title. He was also named Outstanding Wrestler of the Region for the second time. No. 8 Archie Williams (174) will join Cagnina at nationals, with a fourth place finish on the day. 

For the first time since 2007, the USTFCCCA No. 2 ranked UCM Jennies indoor track and field team has been crowned the MIAA Champions. They totaled 159 points, to better second-place Lincoln by 17 points. The 159 points, is the most for the Jennies at the MIAA Indoor Championships under coaches Kip Janvrin and Kirk Pedersen.

The Central Missouri Jennies basketball team has earned the No. 5 seed in the MIAA Postseason Tournament and will host 12th-seeded Lindenwood tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at the UCM Multipurpose Building.
