Two Holden men were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday morning in Johnson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 1988 Mazda B-Series, driven by 41-year-old Bryan S. Phillips of Holden, was on US 50 at Route Z just after 5:30 a.m., when the vehicle slid into the median due to the ice-covered roadway and overturned. Phillips was ejected onto the median. He suffered serious injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City by JCAD.

His passenger, 36-year-old Tyler M. Jennings, also of Holden suffered minor injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg by JCAD.

Neither man was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Mazda was totaled and towed by Warrensburg Tow & Recovery.

Johnson County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
