Trespassing Complaint at Smith-Cotton High School Leads to Arrest

A subject was arrested yesterday afternoon after the school resource officer at Smith-Cotton High School received a trespassing complaint. Contact was made with the suspect on Route B, in the parking lot of M&R Monument Company. A search reportedly led to the discovery of illegal drugs. The suspect, who was not named in a news release from the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Authorities say the suspect did not attempt to enter the school building and did not have contact with students or school staff.
