Three Injured in Pettis County Crash Saturday Night
Three people were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred late Saturday night in Pettis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2014 Kia Cadenza, driven by 20-year-old Andrew M. Vansel of La Monte, was on Route H, north of Elm Springs Road, at 11:43 p.m., when the driver failed to negotiate a right curve and crossed the center of the roadway. The Kia then began to skid and ran off the left side of the roadway, struck several trees, and one occupant, an 11-year-old male, was ejected from the vehicle. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and suffered serious injuries. He was flown to University of Missouri Medical Center by Life Flight for treatment.
Another occupant, a 17-year-old female, suffered serious injuries, and was transported by PCAD to University of Missouri Medical Center.
The driver, Vansel, suffered moderate injuries, and was transported by PCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
The Kia was totaled.
