The Smith-Cotton High School chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 30 new members during an induction ceremony Wednesday, March 23, in the Heckart Performing Arts Center.

The event included the change of chapter officers and student leadership of the Community Café; and the annual awarding of honorary NHS membership to a member of the S-C High faculty. Chapter President Ethan Moore announced that teacher Corie Hickman was selected for honorary membership.

This year’s inductees:

Karmya Bronson, Analesia Lorenzo, Isabelle Lyles, Brooklynn Payne, Dakota Acosta, Kyle Ayers, Ziek Barth-Fagan, Calvin Brewer, Sky Dennis, Stephanie Diaz, Savannah Ditzfeld, Chloe Eckhoff, Emily Eschbacher, Kathryn Ellison, Parker Ellison, Anna Goodrich, Skyler Green, Mylan Hawkins, Zoey Hieronymus, Lauren Homan, Jack Johnston, Annison Mills, Jacob Muin, Chloe Reith, Draiven Short, Savannah Simon, Lillibeth Sokolowski, Adelaide Vannatta, Morgan Webb, Kennedy Woolery.

New officers for the 2022-23 school year: Jones Knight, president; Alyssa Gear, vice president; Alina Weng, secretary; Dawson Rettke, treasurer; and Reagan Fairfax, historian.

Current Community Café Student Director Anna Johnston “passed the spoon” to new director Bailey N. Brown.
